Cathy Ann (Clark) HallAugust 21, 1968 ~ August 21, 2017 (age 49)
Cathy Ann Hall was born August 21, 1968, in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Patricia Bea Robins and Vernon Clark. She met her eternal companion, David Preston Hall, in Asheville, North Carolina. They were married on March 18, 1990 and were sealed in the St. George Temple on June 4, 1991.
Cathy returned to her Heavenly Father on her 49th birthday. She is survived by five children: a daughter, Brandi (husband Paul) Brewer, of Lehi, and four sons including Damon Clark of Austin, Texas; Austin (wife Marissa) Hall of Chandler, Arizona; Andrew (wife Chelsey) and Jonathan Hall of St. George. She is also survived by two granddaughters, Akayleia and Rylie as well as a grandchild that is due in the fall. Cathy is also survived by her mother, five brothers (David, Kenny, John, Gerri, and Richerd Clark) and two sisters (Lily Graham and April Clark-Valdez).
Cathy was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a lasting testimony of eternal families. She had a big heart and was known for her selflessness, often giving sacrificially to others, even when she had little to give. She enjoyed woodcrafts and scrapbooking and her home was always filled with her original creations. Cathy loved planning out the year’s events and decorating the calendar with colorful reminders. She loved to write stuff down (even if it was available online) and be creative. Her secret wish was to be a home economics teacher which showed in her many interests.
Cathy was a loving mother and cherished grandmother. She was funny and brought a brightness into every room she entered. Even though she had to endure chronic pain most of her adult life, she still found the energy to give the best of herself to her family. Cathy had an infectious laugh that when you heard it, you couldn’t help but laugh too. She loved practical jokes and was known to play a couple herself. And she loved her dog, Mickey, who was always, always, always by her side and was beside himself when Mommy walked through the door.
The family has many fond memories of their beloved Cathy, including: “My all-time favorite memory of my mom is our father-mother dance at my wedding.” “She loved it when all of her kids were all together and absolutely cherished the time she spent with her grandkids!” “Nobody quite understood you like she did. She always told you the truth, and even complemented me in a joking way that made it relatable to me.” “She definitely did everything she could for her kids. I remember one time we were at the store and there was a pair of boots I wanted and just had to have. She got them even though I only wore them once.” “I felt I was the one person who could make her mad and make her laugh in a span of 5 minutes. She also loved to remind me, especially in front of my friends, that Pooh Bear was my favorite growing up and I used to pretend I was Tigger.” “I loved the times we went out to lunch for our own quiet time and shared sugar cookies.”
When Dave, her loving husband, was asked about one of his favorite memories, he said: “The day I called and she answered the phone. That moment elevated her above all other women I had ever talked to. That was the first time she touched my heart – she literally had me at hello! I was just fortunate enough that she chose me.”
