Donna (VanTassell) Daugherty

Donna was born on September 18, 1947 to Rowene and Don VanTassell.  She peacefully passed away on February 17, 2023 surrounded by her loved ones.  

Donna spent her early years in Kamas, Utah before moving to Draper with her family. Donna took great joy in talking about her childhood shenanigans with her extended family in Kamas. 

Donna married Ernest Daugherty on June 18, 1968.  They had two beautiful daughters Jodi and Erin. In the mid 1990’s the Daugherty family moved to Hurricane, Utah.  Shortly after the move, Donna started Donna’s Lawn Care, where she had many good customers and established long-lasting friendships.

To know Donna is to love her. She was a wild one and very adventurous. Donna loved to try new things as long as it did not make her motion sick. Donna loved all things outdoors. From camping, to riding 4-wheelers, to playing softball and basketball - she was happiest doing the things she loved. Donna got her daughters involved in sports and attended all the events and games they competed in. Donna was also an avid bowler, and was a long member of the 600 club in Salt Lake City. 

Donna loved her grandchildren, Alexis and Aundre. She watched Alexis golf and Aundre bowl whenever she could. She continuously gave them her support and provided pointers when needed.

Donna was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer in July 2018, and ultimately passed away after a long fight with the disease. She will be remembered and cherished by everyone who knew and loved her.

Donna is survived by her loving husband Ernie, daughters Jodi (Mark) Hamel, Erin (Marlin) Mosher, two grandchildren Alexis Hamel and Aundre Mosher.  Her sister Kayla (Bob) Lewis, sister Stacy (Rodney) Bertelsen, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

Donna was preceded in death by her father and mother Don and Rowene VanTassell, brother Don Jr. VanTassell and niece Kerry Lewis.
