Alice Royce Grover

June 30, 2010 ~ December 13, 2010

Alice was born June 30, 1922 in St. George, Utah to Oscar W. Royce and Florence Bryner Royce, the fifth of seven children. She moved as a child to Salt Lake City where she enjoyed happy years in school and church. She graduated from West High School in 1939 and married Max L. Grover in 1940. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple and enjoyed 55 great years living in southern California. Alice and Max moved to St. George in 1993 where Max passed away in 1995.

Alice was ever grateful for good children and grandchildren whose lives and marriages are blessed by the gospel of Jesus Christ and their love for one another. Alice leaves a legacy of service. She had super years of serving in the Relief Society and the Young Women's organizations in many California wards. She served missions in the Member Location department, San Diego Temple and the St. George Cannery. She was still working regularly in the church cannery and in the temple past her 88 th birthday. Alice was the last of her Royce siblings and her Grover in-laws to pass through the veil into the spirit world and she knew that they and her beloved Max would be there to meet her.

She is survived by daughter, Maryanne Nybo (LaMar), son, Leonard Grover (Valory) and nine grandchildren: Jenny (Carl) Wadsworth, Linda (Rich) Iverson, Scott (Rebecca) Nybo, Sara Hess, David (Kaylynn) Nybo, Joe (Melanie) Grover, Marisa (Dustin) Dye, Jon Grover, Megan (Michael) Mansfield and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 18th at 12:00 preceded by a viewing at 11:00 at the LDS chapel on 10194 South 1050 West, South Jordan Utah. A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 20th at 1:30 at the LDS Sienna Hills chapel on Washington Parkway, Washington, Utah. Burial will be in the St. George cemetery.
