Allen Lee Olson

Allen Lee Olson was born on March 3, 1933 in Irwin, IA. The youngest of four children of Ole and Clara Elizabeth Hansen Olson. 

Allen passed away on April 29, 2026 having attained the age of 93.

He was schooled in a one room country school house in Shelby County, IA, and graduated from Irwin High School in 1951. In 1953 he entered the US Army and graduated from Airborne Jump School in September of 1953. He spent the rest of his three year enlistment at Fort Brag North Carolina.

After his military service Allen was employed in the banking industry, first in Omaha, NE for four year, and last with Wells Fargo Bank in California, for 29 years, retiring in 1989. 

Allen was an avid golfer who had a love of the game and was able to play just three weeks before his passing.

On June 19, 1955 he married Beverly Bargenquast of Defianc, IA. To this union three children were born, Cynthia, David and Eric. They later divorced.

On May 30, 1981 Allen married Sandra Archibald Nelson. He is survived by his wife Sandy of 44 years. His children, Cynthia Remis, Concord, CA. David Olson, Walnut Creek, CA and Eric (Wendy) Olson, Pleasant Hill, CA. Three grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

Three step children, Chris (Cheryl) Nelson, of Washington, UT, Jan Nelson of Cortez, CO, Rodney (Christa) Nelson of Ruther Glen, VA. Fourteen step grandchildren, and 34 step great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother and two sisters.
