Betty Lou Susanne Haisch, 89, of St. George, Utah, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2025. Betty was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who dedicated her life to her family.
Born in Toronto, Canada on March 14, 1936, to Vern Harbach and Curtis Prust, Betty brought kindness, humor, and grace to everyone she met.
Betty married Jack Miller and together they had three children: Michele, Denise, and Douglas. The family moved to San Diego, California in 1968, where Betty created a warm and loving home.
In 1986, she married Robert (Bob) Haisch, with whom she shared many happy years full of love and adventure.
In 2005, Betty and Bob relocated from San Diego to Blackfoot, Idaho, where they lovingly raised their grandchildren, Markie and Cara. They later settled in St. George, Utah in 2014, where Betty enjoyed her days surrounded by sunshine.
Betty found joy in hosting holiday gatherings, golfing with friends, and enjoying her favorite tomato soup from Nordstrom Café. She had a fun-loving sense of humor and delighted in telling silly jokes, often hoping for a “surprised” reaction. Betty adored her pets and was rarely without a small dog—or two—curled up on her lap. Her laughter, generosity, and love will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her children, Michele Clair, Denise Vanderhyde, and Douglas Miller; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and all who were blessed to know her.
A celebration of Betty’s life will be held in San Diego, California on November 29, 2025.
