Betty Ruth LaHargoue, 81 years old, passed away on March 23, 2026 at the St. George Regional Hospital in St. George, Utah from complications of cancer.
Betty was born in West Seattle, WA on May 21, 1944 to Ralph and Ruth Gulbransen and raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She married Jack Michael LaHargoue in Greenbrae, CA on January 3, 1964.
Betty was raised in Seattle, WA and Greenbrae, CA. After graduating from Redwood High School in 1962, she attended College of Marin and BYU before marrying her sweetheart, Jack who she met while working at JCPenny’s.
Jack and Betty raised their three children and lived in the San Francisco Bay area, Los Angeles area, Houston area, Denver area, Atlanta area and then retired to St. George, UT.
Betty was an adventurous spirit and loved to travel, especially on cruises. She enjoyed the arts and was an active member of her national Sorority, AKA BEO for over 40 years. She spent her life raising and serving those she loved. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother supporting her children in all of their schooling, sports, and activities.
She is survived by her husband, Jack LaHargoue and they were married for over 62 years. Her three children and their spouses: Mike and Suan LaHargoue of Highland, UT, Ellen and Dale Palsson of Alpine, UT, and Lisa and Grant Garrett of Lehi, UT. Her 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Her two sisters, three brothers, late parents, and late brother.
Funeral services will be held Saturday April 18, 2026 at 10am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 285 Matterhorn Dr, Alpine, UT.
