Betty Jo Andrus

Betty was born November 7, 1930 in Malta, Montana. She was the first born of four children to Michael and Mabel Ames Vodopich.

Betty lived most of her life in Utah where she was converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at the age of 18. She was an active member serving in various capacities, one of her great joys was serving 4 years between the Provo and St. George Utah temples.

In 1948 she married Ray Dee Hansen, they became the parents of a son and daughter, and were divorced in 1958. On October 10th 1963 she was sealed to Edmond Andrus in the Salt Lake City temple, and they later had one daughter.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents Michael and Mabel, her husband Edmond, her two brothers Robert Michael and Philip Allen, and her daughter Lynette Dee Hansen. She is survived by her son Marc Ray Hansen (Elena) of St. George Utah, her daughter Sharon Lynne Spek (Michael) of Ivins Utah, her sister Arlene May Baca of Palmdale California, 5 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.

“To all of my children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and extended family. My love and gratitude will go thru eternity. When you are remembering me I will be remembering you. I will be waiting for the joy of that eternal reunion, but for now I am off to play Scrabble with Ed and dance a polka with my Dad.”

Betty also wanted to express her great love and gratitude to all of her caregivers and friends at 5 County and Applegate.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 13, 2021 at 11:00am at the Snow Canyon LDS Chapel located at 1184 N. Dixie Downs Road, St. George, Utah 84770.  A viewing will be held prior to service from 10:00-10:45am at the same location. Burial will follow and take place at Tonaquint Cemetery in St. George Utah.
