Boyd Asahel Crump passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 11, 2026. He was born on March 10, 1930, in Lark, Utah to Heber Asahel Crump and Eliza Erma Bodell Crump. Boyd and his family later moved to Midvale, Utah and he attended Jordan High School
Boyd aka “Pop”, “Papa” lived a life of fun and adventure. He was a true character who became friends with everyone he met. He enjoyed cooking, was an amazing artist and in his younger years loved sharing a shot of Jack Daniel’s whiskey with friends and family. He served in the United States Air Force, worked at Kennecott Copper Mine, and later started his own business, Hop’s TV and Appliance, which was later known as Hop’s Showkase in Midvale, Utah. After selling his business, he worked at Sure Appliance and ended his career at Blvd Home in St George, Utah.
Boyd married Rachel Anderson and later divorced. He then married the love of his life, Sherry Ann Fowler, February 17, 1968. They were happily married until Sherry passed away in 2016.
Boyd, Sherry and their family enjoyed traveling together, especially to Hawaii. They loved boating, camping, running, hiking, hunting, fishing and were well known for hosting the most amazing parties and barbeques for family and friends. Boyd and Sherry made their home in Sandy, Utah and south Salt Lake City before retiring in St George, Utah.
Boyd was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sherry, his son Tracy; sisters Carol Crump, Elva McClusky, Madge Green, Mary Jenkins and Fern Nelson; brother-in-law, Grant Hurst; grandson Erik Liddiard and many family members and good friends.
Boyd is survived by his children Lori Brown (Rick), Debbie Crump Painter (Les), Debbie Noxon, Joni Eiseman (Larry); brother-in-law Harold Dennis Fowler; sisters-in-law Pamela Gaye Fowler and Lucille Hurst and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He is survived by grandchildren Kiley Moyer (Bill), Tanya Williams (Mike), Tara Huber (Stephen) Christopher Eiseman (Lynzy) , Karli Eiseman, Hannah Snarr (Skyler), Ryan Crump, Dallas Crump (Chelsea), Michael Liddiard (Bailey), Joshua Liddiard (Amber), Christopher Liddiard (Meredith); as well as great grandchildren Griffin, Wyatt, Evie, Calvin, Ellis, Romy, Judge, Vanden, Ashton, Arianna, Rylen, Ravyn, Mylah and Indigo.
At Boyd’s request, there will be no funeral service. The family will plan a celebration of life at a later date when Boyd’s and Sherry’s ashes will be spread together.
