Boyd M. Healey, 73, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family February 29, 2012 in St George, Utah. He was born September 7, 1938 in American Fork, Utah to Maurice and June Healey. Boyd married his Eternal companion Mahala Jean Crum on April 12, 1958. They shared 53 wonderful years together.
He spent his early childhood in Alpine, Utah and later moved to Connor, Montana where he graduated from Darby High School. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He loved the gospel and touched many lives while serving faithfully in all callings, including serving as a bishop three times. He lived in Missoula, Montana for 31 years where he owned and operated several businesses. Boyd and Mahala have four children all born and raised in Missoula. They moved to St. George, Utah in 1990. Boyd loved music, dancing, camping, fishing, golfing and playing any card games with his family. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and had a great relationship with all of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Boyd and his wife were currently serving a mission in the LDS Addiction Recovery Program (ARP), and have been joyfully serving for three years.
He is survived by his wife: Mahala Crum Healey; daughter Terri Rowley (David Rowley) of Missoula Montana, daughter Tracey Parr (Kevin Parr) of St. George, Utah, son Timothy Healey of Boise, Idaho, and daughter Toni Evans (Karl Evans) of Missoula, Montana; 4 grandsons, 7 granddaughters, and 9 great grandchildren. Boyd is also survived by two sisters, Geraldine Baumgarten of Provo, Utah and Mayrene Bickmore of Lompoc, California. He is preceded in death by: his parents Maurice and June Healey, brother Allen Healey and granddaughter Jessica Mahala Evans.
Funeral services will be Saturday March 3rd, 2012 at 3:00 pm in the chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints building, located at 166 South Main in St George, Utah. Visitations will be held at the chapel from 1:30 to 2:30 pm prior to funeral service. He will be laid to rest in Missoula, Montana following a funeral service there.
