Brent Budge

Washington City - Brent Holmes Budge, 78, passed from this earthly existence on December 14, 2018 to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Brent was the fourth child and only son of Preston Morgan and Irene Holmes Budge. His three sisters, Nondus (Richard) Shea, Dorothy (Richard) Hicks, and Arlene (Harold) Johnson, preceded him in death. He was born July 17, 1940 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

While growing up, Brent attended schools in Salt Lake City, and Bountiful, Utah. In 1958 he married his soul-mate, Carol Bennett, of Bountiful. They had two daughters, Jessie Lynn (Danielo Ortega) and Julie Ann. Three grandchildren, Quinn Craig (Heather), London Perry (Christian), and Hailee Morgan, and two great-grandchildren, Aizlinn Jade, and Kaidan Quinn Craig. Brent dearly loved his family.

At the age of 17, Brent enlisted and began a career with the Utah Air National Guard, attaining the rank of E-8, Senior Master Sergeant. In 1979 he was selected to obtain a USAF commission to the rank of Captain, and at the time of his retirement in 1984 he was a Major, serving as Chief of Supply at the Utah ANG Base in Salt Lake City. Brent carried fond memories of those years he served with the Guard, especially those spent in the enlisted ranks.

Brent wished that his body be cremated when the days of his mortality came to an end. However, Brent knew that for him, as for all others that belong to Christ (1 Corinthians 1:23), to be away from the body is to be at home with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8). He now awaits a new, imperishable body just as God has promised in His Word (1 Corinthians 15:52), for He is the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in Him will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in Him will never die (John 11:25 – 26). “O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” (1 Corinthians 15:55).

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 1:00pm at the Desert Ridge Baptist Church located at 326 S. 600 E., St. George, Utah 84770.
