Bruce Ivan Davenport, age 75, passed away on June 29, 2025. He was born November 3, 1949, in Kearns, Utah, to Lucille and Ivan Davenport. He married Vickie Powell, and together they had three daughters.
Bruce graduated from Kearns High School and went on to work at Kennecott Copper. He began in the silver refinery and later worked in the gold room. After 30 years, he retired with many close friends. In addition to his work at Kennecott, he ran a successful painting business, Bruce Davenport Painting, for over 40 years. He was proud of the work he did and taught many others, including his daughters, the skills he had mastered.
Bruce loved spending time at his cabin with family and friends, especially hunting and fishing. He enjoyed boating and cherished his time at Lake Powell with his parents and family. Dad was good at anything and everything and made sure it was done to perfection. He was always ready to lend a hand with any project. Helping others made him genuinely happy, and he was known for taking care of his neighbors, friends, and family whenever there was a need.
He was also the biggest tease, always trying to get a rise out of someone, then grinning and laughing once he did. He had a fun-loving spirit and a warm heart. Bruce was a passionate gun and coin collector and loved sharing his hobbies with his grandkids.
He is survived by his daughters Mechelle Kemp (Matt), Denise McDonald (Erik), and Lindsey Davenport; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren who he adored; and his siblings Charlotte McIff (Paul), Gary Davenport (Julie), Kevin Davenport (Annette), and Lisa Rushton (Dean). He also loved and helped raise four children through marriage: Chris, Sarah, Chelsea, and Alies.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Mark Davenport, and his best friend Brad Turpin.
Bruce leaves behind a legacy of hard work, generosity, humor, and love. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the blessing of knowing him.
