Carl Pringle

d. July 13, 2011

Carl Bryant Pringle,76, passed away peacefully at home in Washington, Utah on Wednesday July 13, 2011. He was born in Phoenix, Arizona on February 17, 1935 to Ray Carl Pringle and Vella Margaret Bryant. Carl married Paula Rae Allen on March 25, 1978 in the Salt Lake Temple.

Together they had 5 children: Taunia Diane Roberts of Kingman, Arizona; Raeann (Robert) Wagner of Gonzales, California; Rebecca Lee Pringle of Santa Cruz, California; Ashlee Rae (Ryan) Halub of Simi Valley, California and Cameron (Carrie) Pringle of Layton, Utah. Carl was preceeded in death by his father, Ray Carl Pringle, his mother Vella Margaret Bryant and his step-father, Allen Booth. He leaves behind his wife Paula, his 5 children, 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, one sister, Eileen Price of Phoenix, Arizona and an adopted brother, Robert Pringle of California.
Although Carl grew up in Phoenix Arizona, he spent much of his childhood in Tucson, Arizona as well. He graduated from Phoenix Union High School in 1952. Carl was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at age 14 by former Apostle, Delbert L. Stapley. He loved serving in the church all his life until he was no longer physically able to do so in June, 2011. He served faithfully in many positions in the church, serving at least 5 Stake missions, including Deseret Industries and the Bishop’s Storehouse in St. George, Utah. He had served as an early morning Seminary Teacher while living in California and served in several Bishoprics as Executive Secretary and Ward Clerk. He also served as High Priest Group Leader, Gospel Doctrine and Gospel Essentials
Teachers and as a Home Teacher. His last calling was with his wife, Paula, as the Shepherding Couple for the Young Single Adults in the Washington Fields Stake. He loved teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ to anyone and everyone he met. He truly was a missionary in every sense of the word. Carl had an absolute testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He loved the Lord and always desired to serve.
Carl enlisted in the Army at 18 and spent his first duty at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey before being sent to Keiserslautern, Germany for 4 years as a communications technician. He loved his time serving in the Army. He loved Germany and the German people and had many wonderful
experiences there. He often had way too much fun! His duties in communications in the Army, unbeknownst to him at the time, were a preparation for his life career. After being honorably discharged from the Army, he began a career in broadcasting. Carl soon came to associate
with many actors and actresses while living in Los Angeles and while working on shows and in the theater. This eventually led to his writing career, which continued until his death.
Carl soon realized that show business was not for him and he happened upon a communications position with Pacific Bell in Los Angeles, which was the best decision of his life. He worked for Pacific Bell for 30 years as a technician, retiring in 1989. After retirement and while living in Canyon Country, California, with his wife and family for 26
years, he decided to start his own telephone installation business, Carl’s Connections. Carl loved his telephone business and continued serving as a telephone technician and installer for 13 years until 2004 when he and Paula decided to move to St. George, Utah, which was THE
best decision of their lives!
Carl’s passions were screen writing, Sprint Cars and Porter Rockwell. He wrote many movie scripts for screen and television. The selling of one of his scripts to a Canadian production company in 1980, sent Carl and Paula and their daughter, Ashlee to Canada, all expenses paid for a month for Carl to work on the re-writes. He loved writing and found such satisfaction in his stories. He was an entertainer at heart. He loved to make people laugh and had a fantastic sense of humor and outgoing personality. Carl also wrote many stories and scripts for Ward and Stake
entertainment. Sprint Car racing was another of Carl’s passions. He loved to go to sprint cars races and loved the racing scene, even creating a screen play based on Sprint Car racing. One of Carl’s most favorite people from the early days of the church was Porter Rockwell. Carl wrote, produced and starred in his own Porter Rockwell play many
times through the years at many church events.

Carl loved to travel. He and Paula took many trips to Europe and elsewhere through out their 32 years of marriage. Carl loved anything Italian, especially his wife, Paula. Carl adored his family, children grandchildren and great grandchildren so very much, and they loved him.

When Carl found out in June, 2011 that his tumor had come back a 3rd time, that this time it was cancer and that it would take his life, he was not at all afraid to leave. Rather he looked forward to a glorious reunion with his family and loved ones who had gone before. He left this
life peacefully and valiantly with a smile on his face. He will be forever in our hearts!
