Listen to Obituary

Carol Jeanne Gregory, age 84, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2026, in St. George, Utah. She was born on January 19, 1942, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Ernest Paul Wiechman and Deloris Alice Timothy. Carol graduated from Bingham High School and the University of Utah.

On December 21, 1962, Carol married Dee Gregory. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on November 21, 1980. After retiring, Carol and Dee served a mission in Malaga, Spain, for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and later made their home in St. George, Utah.

Carol was the first member of her family to graduate from college, earning a scholarship through her accomplishments in debate. She earned her degree in Speech Therapy and went on to a successful career serving children with learning disabilities in Special Education, including being named Teacher of the Year in the Jordan School District.

Their retirement in the SunRiver community was idyllic, where they enjoyed being physically active and building friendships within their ward and community. Carol consciously worked on overcoming her tendency toward shyness, becoming more outgoing — a development that led to fulfilling teaching and leadership roles at church.

Carol loved spending time with the women in her golf league and went from never playing golf before moving to SunRiver to playing competitively and for pleasure several days a week, achieving two holes-in-one. She also enjoyed running, skiing and boating with the family, and game nights and dinners out with friends.

Above all else, Carol deeply loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered for her discipline, faith in God, and unwavering love for her family.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Dee Milo Gregory. She is survived by her brother, Dave Wiechman of South Jordan (and his wife, Cathy); her son, Alan Gregory ofDraper (and his wife, Debbie Davis Gregory); her daughter, Jean Singleton of Diamond Valley (and her husband, Jeff Singleton); her grandchildren, Brittany Lerma (and her husband, Berto) of Salt Lake City, Addison Koloa (and her husband, Sateki) of South Jordan, Maggie Davis (and her husband, Tyge) of Lehi, and Mitch Gregory (and his wife, Rylee Buntjer Gregory) of Mapleton, Utah; and her three great-grandchildren, Tui Koloa, Hudson Gregory, and Alani Koloa.
