Carol Ann Tuitavuki

Carol was born in Pomona, California, on March 7, 1951, to Elroy and Leora Coberly.

Carol passed away peacefully on August 20, 2026, surrounded by the people she loved.

Carol’s life was defined by love, faith, family, kindness, and caring for others. She served an LDS mission in Pocatello, Idaho, which later she was hand-picked to open the Salt Lake City Mission, where she served all across Northern and Southern Utah. She was very faithful in her church and her callings.

After serving her Mission Carol met and married her eternal companion, Fred Tuitavuki, on January 27th 1979. Together, they had three beautiful children: Taletha, born in 1980; Kalisi, born in 1982; and Feleti, born in 1985.

After their divorce, Carol began her journey as a single mother. She further her education where she graduated from Lassen County Community College and she also graduated from Chico State University, all while working hard to keep her household together and care for her children.

Carol earned her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and began her career working as a Drug Addiction Counselor. However, her greatest priority was always being a homemaker and, most importantly, being a mother. Her family was her heart, and she devoted herself to them.

Carol, lovingly known as Gigi, had a way of making everyone feel welcome. She never judged anyone for where they came from or what they were going through. Once she loved you, she loved you fiercely and would do everything she could to make sure you felt safe and loved. She created a safe place where there was no judgment, only support, understanding, and an open heart.

Carol had a heart of pure gold. She was kind and caring toward those in need and always helped whenever she could. She was also known for her sense of humor. Her side comments, goofy moments, and ability to make anyone laugh brought so much joy to those around her.

Carol was a wonderful caregiver to both of her parents as they grew older. She gave her time and love to make sure they were cared for and never stopped being there for them until they passed away.

Gigi loved her children deeply and cherished her grandchildren with all her heart. She treasured every moment with them and loved to laugh and smile with them. She also loved sharing memories and stories from her childhood and throughout her life.

She was the mother everyone could turn to when they needed advice, comfort, or someone to ease their fears. She was always there for her family, offering guidance, reassurance, and love. She taught her children to be honest, kind, compassionate, and good examples to others.

Carol leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, strength, and memories that will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, family, and everyone who was fortunate enough to know her.

Carol is preceded in death by her mother, Leora Coberly; her father, Elroy Clark Coberly; her brother-in-law, Fred Thomas; and her three granddaughters, Kelslynn, Keanna, and Kalynn Tuitavuki.

Carol is survived by her siblings, Clark Coberly (Marcia), Christie Thomas, Mark Coberly, and Angela Coberly; her children, Taletha Tuitavuki (John), Kalisi Tuitavuki, and Feleti Tuitavuki (Kelsi); and her grandchildren, Rickey and Kyree Bledsoe, Kaimana and Kinzley Vahoi Tuitavuki, and John “Jak Jak” Nichols.

Gigi will be deeply missed by everyone whose life she touched. Her love, laughter, and lessons will live on in all of us.

A Celebration of Life honoring Carol Ann Tuitavuki will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at 11:00am–1:00pm at the LDS Ward Building, 124 North Valley View Drive St. George, Utah 84770 

Family and friends are invited to come together to celebrate Carol’s life, share memories, and honor the love and legacy she leaves behind.
