Charles Thomas Dominik, age 92, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2021 in St George UT. He was surrounded by his wife and daughter. He was born January 11, 1929 in Hayward WI to Hedwig and Charles Stanley Dominik. He was the youngest of 6 children who have all preceded him in death.
He was married to Diana Bess Aumock April 6, 1951 in Fort Leonardwood, MO. They later divorced and Diana passed away March 26, 1999 in Modesto, CA. They had three children Susan, Steven, and Michael. In Oregon he met and married Karen Leaming Laws January 3, 1985, his life-long companion. He accepted Karen’s daughter Christine as his own.
Charles had 19 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He loved to build grandfather clocks and he created many stained glass windows and lamp shades. He loved the outdoors and took his children camping on several occasions. He was personable, charismatic, and very charitable. He would give to those in need without hesitation.
Charles served in World War II in the Army Air Force and then served in South Korea with the Army from March 1951 to Dec 1952 as a Bulldozer Operator building roads for the troops.
He had many career paths in his life working on the Ore Boats on Lake Superior, forklift driver for Sharpe Army Depot, ran several gas stations, and worked many years as a Social Insurance Representative in Oregon, Idaho, and California.
His lifelong faith was with the Catholic Church where he started as an altar boy at a very young age. He last attended the St George Catholic Church.
There will be a graveside service for him on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Tonaquint Cemetery in St George UT.
