Clyone Baxter Lowe, 83, of St. George, died Monday September 27, 2010, from cancer.

She was born to Simpson Molen Baxter and Irene Johnson Baxter, October 20, 1926, in Newton, UT.

Clyone was the oldest of five children and was preceded in death by her sister, LaRee Baxter Ricks. She is survived by two brothers and one sister: Arden Molen Baxter, Clinton Baxter and Wanda Baxter Webb.

On April 2, 1947, Clyone married Earl D'Leal Lowe in the Salt Lake Temple. Shortly after their marriage, they served an LDS mission in Eastern Canada. After their mission they lived in Alpine, Utah, before relocating to Pleasant Grove where they raised four children. Clyone is survived by her husband Earl, four children and their spouses: Irene Elaine and Stephen C. Sapp, Vance D'Leal and Anne Scheilling Lowe, Debra Lee and Stephen K. Caldwell, Steven Molen and Lori Walker Lowe. She has sixteen grandchildren and forty two great-grandchildren.

Clyone served in many L.D.S. church callings. She directed youth road shows, served as a relief society president, and taught primary. She was passionate about genealogy and was dedicated to teaching others how to find their ancestors. She taught one year at BYU before moving to Ventura, California, where she became a director of the Family History Center.

In 1991, Clyone and her husband moved to St. George and were soon called to serve a mission in Columbus, Texas. Upon returning home, Clyone continued her genealogy work by indexing names. She also produced the weekly program for the Snow Canyon Fourth Branch.

Funeral Services will be Monday October 4, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the Snow Canyon Stake Center located at 1184 N Dixie Downs Rd. Viewings will be held Sunday evening from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Monday at 9:00 a.m. all to be held at the church.

Interment will be at the Tonaquint Cemetery.
