Listen to Obituary

Conrad died unexpectedly and peacefully surrounded by his eight children and his sweet wife on Saturday, Oct 31, 2026, in Saint George, Utah.

Conrad Bernard Houser was born in Binghamton, New York, on July 29, 1945, to his parents Bernard and Marion Houser. He lived at 2714 Hall Street, Endwell, New York until he left for college at the United States Air Force Academy in 1963. He graduated from the Academy with honors in 1967. He will be buried at the beautiful Air Force Academy cemetery in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Conrad's life really began in 1965 when he met the beautiful, amazing Gloria Diane Carson--they married a few days after his graduation in 1967 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This was the beginning of 60 wonderful years of life together. Conrad went on to graduate from Rice University on a full-ride scholarship in 1968 with an MS. He later graduated from Brigham Young University's J. Reuben Clark Law School in 1975 cum laude JD. He held CEO and other C-level and management positions commensurate with his engineering and legal education.

Conrad and Gloria resided in 38 different homes throughout the course of their marriage. They first lived in Texas, then Japan (where their two oldest sons, Javan and Jamin, were born), Colorado (where Mara, was born), several different places in Utah (where Judah, Anna and Rebecca were born), Australia (Debbie was born down under), and Connecticut (where the youngest, Tami, was born). Other places they lived included Zambia, Africa; Wyoming; Idaho and California. Conrad also worked on projects that took him to England, Kenya, Turkey, Brazil, Korea, Colombia and Cameroon, where his presence and expertise influenced hundreds of people. For the past thirteen years, Con and Gloria have lived in St. George, Utah.

Of utmost importance in his life, Conrad and Gloria became members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Houston, Texas in 1968. They were sealed to one another in the Laie Hawaii Temple in 1970. Conrad and Gloria dedicated their lives to serving our Heavenly Father, Jesus the Christ, and the Holy Ghost, in responsible callings in all levels of the Church everywhere they lived. They served three full-time senior couple missions in San Bernadino, California; Queensland, Australia; and St. George, Utah. Conrad also served as technical support to the Church for a year.

Conrad enjoyed watching BYU football, attending countless grandchildren's sporting events, and completing items on his endless "to-do lists." He maintained a lifelong love of learning and was very excited about family history and doing temple work for his ancestors.

Conrad is preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Marion Houser, his sister Elaine, and his grandson Curran. Conrad is survived by his wife Gloria, their eight children and their children's spouses, 35 grandchildren and the spouses of those who are married, and 32 great-grandchildren--a progeny totaling 82 wonderful people. That number continues to grow.
