St. George, UT - Daniel Charles Sadler Sr., 93, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2025 in Ivins, UT. He was born February 28, 1932 at Magee Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA to Maxx Clement Sadler and Harriet Marie O’Brien. He married his high school sweetheart Charlotte Helen Osborne on June 7, 1952 in Fairfield, ME. Their marriage was solemnized when they were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on June 19, 1969.
Dan will be remembered as a man of integrity, great work ethic, and service to his fellow man. He served four years in the Air Force, being stationed in both Japan and Okinawa. He worked his professional life as a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union #5 Pittsburgh. As an electrician, he followed in the footsteps of his father, uncle, and grandfather as a general foreman building and renovating industrial and commercial facilities.Dan served in many leadership positions in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as Bishop of the Pittsburgh 4th Ward, as a member of the High Council of the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania North Stake. as a Welfare Services Region Agent for the Tri-States of Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia. In addition, he served as a Stake Clerk and Ward Financial Clerk for over 21 years.
In retirement, Dan loved spending time with his wife, grandkids, and great grandkids. He also enjoyed exploring the desert in his Tacoma, being a ham radio operator, and going to the gym every morning.
Dan is survived by his children: son Dee Sadler and wife Caroline (Young) Sadler of Ivins, UT and daughter-in-law Karen (Whitehead) Sadler of Freedom, PA; grandchildren: Seth and Shanalee Sadler, Margaret Barber, Brittany and Josh Atkins, Spencer Sadler, Sterling Sadler, Maxx and Caitlyn Sadler, Christian Sadler; and great grandchildren: Kyleigh, Gabrielle, Grant, Evan, Marley, Dylan, and Esty.
Dan was preceded in death by his wife Charlotte, sons Donald Carl Sadler and Daniel Charles Sadler Jr, sister Lois (Sadler) Kolender, half-brother John Clement Sadler and half-sisters Avis Virginia Sadler and Catherine Ruth Spence.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, May 19, 2025 in the LDS Bloomington Hills Stake Center at 1130 E. Brigham Road, St. George, UT 84790. A viewing will be from 10:00-10:45am prior to services. Interment will follow in the Mount Royal Cemetery in Glenshaw, PA.
