Danni David Waddell

April 21, 1947 — June 12, 2024

Hurricane, Utah

Danni David Waddell returned peacefully to our Heavenly Father on June 12, 2024, at St. George Regional Hospital at the age of 77. He was born April 21, 1947, in Los Angeles, California, to Justus James Waddell and Leola May Connelley. He grew up in Sylmar, California, was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a mission in the northern Midwest.

He learned the construction trade from his father. He went to BYU for pre-dentistry and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree. He later changed his direction to general contractor and became a master electrician.

Dan loved to sing, loved attending the temple and being a temple worker, and enjoyed boating, water skiing, and dancing. He was also quite handy and could repair his vehicles and built and remodeled homes for his family. He eventually settled in Hurricane, Utah, to raise his family.

He was severely injured in a biking accident in 1996 and spent 28 years paralyzed, which eliminated many of the things he loved to do. But he pressed forward in faith and looked for opportunities he could do throughout this heartbreaking trial with its endless health issues, and he felt that his Savior was always by his side and helping him through.

Danni is survived by his two sons Danni David Waddell (Amber Dawn) and Ryan Danni Waddell (Anna), his four grandchildren Danni David Waddell, Kenneth Ranon Waddell, Keith Sheldon Waddell, and Juniper WrenWaddell, as well as his brother John Jared Waddell (Lexie), and his sisters Carolyn Elaine Fullmer, Dawn Ilene Murchison (David), Janna Lynn Hatch (Greg), and Nyla Louise Tillery (Wayne). Danni was preceded in death by his parents, his older brother Justus James Waddell II, his sister Lea Margaret Larsen, and his infant son Kenneth Lowell Waddell. Danni, you will be missed.
