David Semon

David Michael Semon age 77 passed away on his birthday January 25, 2022 in St. George, Utah.  He was born January 25, 1945 in Shreveport, Louisiana to John Edgar and Frances “Fannie” Hartsfield Semon.

David graduated from Fair Park High School in 1964.  He proudly served in the United States Marine Corp from 1964 to 1973.  He was a  Sergeant and a veteran of the Vietnam War.  He was awarded the Purple Heart, Combat Action Ribbon, Republic of Vietnam Service Medal,and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.

He married Sherry Kay King May 15, 2012. They were sealed November 26, 2016 for time and eternity in the St. George Temple.  He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the Elders Quorum.

David loved the beach, shelling, fishing, driving with Sherry Kay, and shooting. He raised German Shepards for the Shreveport Police in Louisiana.

David is survived by his loving wife Sherry Kay; his step children Troy Erickson, Mac Erickson (Angie), and Rebecca Godfrey (Jeff); his grandchildren Ty, Nic, Luke, Beau, Cam, Cy, Jacob, and Sammy; his brother in law John King Jr. of Las Vegas, NV and many nieces and nephews and friends.

He loved his family very much and his grandsons meant the world to him; he loved watching them play sports that they were involved in.

He was preceded in death by his parents John and Fannie and his siblings James Francis Semon, Richard Harris Semon, Olin Semon, Harold Semon, Alfred Eugene Semon, Kathryn Semon Bryant and Lolita Semon Heard. He is also preceded in death by his beloved poodle John Henry.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 1:00pm at the Siennia Hills Chapel located at 1500 E. Ridge View Drive, Washington, Utah  84780

Interment with military honors will be in the Ben Lomond Cemetery in North Ogden, Utah on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at noon.
