Debra Moore passed away peacefully on May 28th, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. Debra was born on September 24, 1955 in Montebello, California. She grew up in California and graduated from Rowland Heights High School. She married Kurt Gehlken and they had three children – Corey, Stacie, and Ashley. They moved to Las Vegas where she lived for over thirty years. She and Kurt eventually divorced. She went to work and raised her children mostly on her own. Later, she married Daven Moore but they also divorced.

Debra worked for many years in the construction business. She worked for several different builders and worked her way up to become a Purchasing Agent where she was very successful. She also earned her contractor’s license. She enjoyed being outside and spending time with her grandchildren. Debra will always be remembered for her kind spirit, love of animals, her laughter and sense of humor. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and had a strong testimony of our Savior Jesus Christ.

Debra was a breast cancer survivor but became ill with kidney failure several years ago. She moved to St. George to be with her parents for support during this difficult time. She is survived by her three children, Corey Gehlken (Nikki), Stacie Shields (Kearby), Ashley Needham (Shane), her parents Merrill and Mary Hill, sister Annette Rothe, and her nine grandchildren who adored her.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 3rd, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sunset Stake Center located at 82 North Dixie Drive in St. George, UT. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Tonaquint Cemetery, under the direction of McMillan Mortuary.
