DeLaun Reed Humphries, age 67, passed away on Friday, February 25, 2022 at his home in Enterprise, Utah surrounded by his family. DeLaun was born in Cedar City, Utah to Willard Giles and Emmarene Staheli Humphries on March 10, 1954 and was the fourth child of six. He grew up in Enterprise, “Windy Town” as he called it, working on his family’s farm. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served a full-time mission in Thailand. He held many callings throughout his life and enjoyed serving his fellowmen and his God. He was a banker by trade and spent most of his professional career (almost 37 years) working for Zions Bank. He married his sweetheart, Tereasa Platt Humphries, in the Manti, Utah temple on September 22, 1978.
DeLaun is the proud father of seven children and was as great a dad as anyone could ask for. He is grandfather to 17 grandchildren who will sorely miss their “papa.”
DeLaun is survived by his wife, Tereasa; his children, Brant (Kristin); Wayne (Teona); Truston (Krystal); Leon (Kristi); Tereasa LaDawn; Clarissa; and Shanell; and by his siblings, Vernon (Vicky) Humphries; Thelma Jean (Robert) Smith; Allen (Melanie) Humphries; Marlene (Clive) Bunker; Ronald (Teresa) Humphries. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Emmarene Humphries, and his brother-in-law, Robert Smith.
Many respected DeLaun for having integrity, high character, and spirituality. Dad cherished his friendships and once you became his friend, you were his friend for life. He loved gardening, “hiking the hills,” collecting rocks, playing card games, and spending time with his family.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 12 noon at the Enterprise, Utah Stake Center located at 80 S. Center Street. A viewing will be prior to services from 9:30-11:30am at the same location.
