Delbert Roy Brown was a fun-loving father, son, brother, and friend. He left this world due to an unexpected heart attack on October 14, 2023. At his passing, he was surrounded by close family and an outpouring of love.
Delbert was born to Thomas and Shelly Brown on December 1, 1985, in Apple Valley, California. His brother and three sisters quickly welcomed him into the position as baby of the family; a position he relished to the very end.
His youth was spent in the Mojave Desert with a short side quest to Washington State where he met many fine garter snakes. Del spent most of his childhood playing outside with his best friend and neighbor or with his sister, Jennifer. His antics of pretending to be a ninja and soldier gave his family endless enjoyment.
Delbert relished physicality. In high school he received a letterman in baseball, football, water polo, wrestling, and cross country. He continued this enthusiasm throughout his life.
After graduating high school in 2004, he followed his grandfather and father by entering the JATC Lineman apprenticeship. Del loved adventure and anything that would give him an adrenaline boost. He worked inside electrical vaults, climbed power poles, flew suspended under the bellies of helicopters, and worked at 400 feet on transmission towers. Del became a true high stepper.
Del loved a good challenge, and he knew no fear, but most of all he loved his daughter, Everly. He was amazed and jubilant when he found out he was going to be a dad. He fell in love the moment he saw the first ultrasound. Del was a proud father and would show pictures or videos to anyone that would look. In anything he did, in any place he was, she was never far from his thoughts.
