Dell Spencer, age 78, of St. George, Utah, passed away with family by his side, Wednesday, January 13, 2021. He was born July 7, 1942 in Kanab, Utah to Karl and Olive Spencer. He married LuJean Heaton in the St. George Temple on December 27, 1962.
Dell was the ninth of twelve children and grew up in Glendale, Utah. He was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on August 6, 1950 in Hidden Lake above Glendale at Chamberlain’s Ranch. He attended Valley High School in Orderville, Utah where he held a student body position, was involved in FFA, as well as playing basketball, baseball, and track. Following high school Dell attended and graduated from the Salt Lake School of Electronics. In 1965 Dell had the opportunity to work for EG&G where he and LuJean relocated their family to Las Vegas. He worked at the Nevada Test Site for 45 years. Upon retirement in 2011, Dell and LuJean joined their children in St. George, Utah.
Dell is survived by his wife LuJean, children; Conway (Anita) Spencer, Stephanie (Dave) Kipp, Michael Ann Spencer, Grandchildren; Shauni (Shilo) Joseph, Trey Spencer, Halle Kipp, Wyatt Kipp, Kylee Kipp and Great Grandson; Hudson Joseph. Sisters; LaRue Sorensen, Lois (Sherril) Porter, Brothers; Hugh (Allie) Spencer and Leland (Mary) Spencer.
A viewing will be held for all family and friends on Wednesday, January 20, 2021, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the Coyote Springs Ward Chapel located at 1905 Rustic Drive, St. George Utah. A private family service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be in the St. George City Cemetery immediately following the service.
