Donald Allen Hospodarsky, age 82, passed away August 28, 2023, at the St George (UT) Regional Hospital. Don was born at Almyra, Arkansas August 20, 1941, to Edwin Hospodarsky and Ruth Haskin. He grew up on a farm in LaPorte, Iowa.
Don graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He then joined the Army and served in Germany. After returning from the Army, he worked in sheet metal in Casa Grande, AZ; Iowa City, IA; and Maryville, MO. It was in Arizona that he joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. In Iowa City he met Theresa "Teri" Robinson and they were married in the Salt Lake City Temple on August 8, 1975. They enjoyed 48 years of married life. In Maryville, Don went to school for computer science and then with his family moved to Salt Lake City where he helped write code for computerized warehouses. Two boys: Todd and Zorn, were born while in SLC. In 1980, Don and his family moved to Washington, UT and took over the H & R Block franchise from Teri's parents. Don was an expert at doing taxes. In 2004, Don had a heart transplant and lived an extra 19 years after receiving it. Don always wished he could live on a farm and have a team of draft horses.
Don is survived by his sweetheart Teri, his boys Todd (Michelle) of Salt Lake City and Zorn (Rebekah) of Cedar City, 14 grandchildren, and his brothers Ralph (Cheryl) of Indianapolis, IN, and Jim (Cindy) of Augusta, GA. He was preceded in death by his parents Edwin and Ruth Hospodarsky, and sisters Judy Hospodarsky, and Nancy Hospodarsky.
Services will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023, with a 10:00 AM viewing, followed by an funeral service at 11:00 AM at the Washington Stake Center located at 446 East Mangum Road in Washington, UT. Interment will be in the Washington City Cemetery, 300 Park View Drive.
