Douglas W. Ackley was born July 30, 1923 in Menominee, Michigan to Charles Earl Ackley and Emma Linder Ackley. He was the youngest of three children that included his sisters Rita Hjorten and Helen Wolfe. Doug married Carol Ackley on January 31, 1949 in Fresno, CA. They recently celebrated their 60 th wedding anniversary. Doug and Carol had two children, Janell Hampton of Lehi, UT and David Ackley of Clark, Wyoming. He has six grandchildren, Nathan, Jacob, Dane, Jenny, Amy, David and has eleven great grandchildren Dane, Kate, Kailey, Kaden, Boston, Lucy, Easton, Eli, Emma, Shawn and David. He was a 1949 graduate of the University of Oregon and a Navy veteran of World War II. He enjoyed tennis, traveling, moving, fishing and the outdoors. Doug is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and his sister, Rita, He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Helen. At Doug's request, there will be no services.
