Listen to Obituary

Elizabeth Dianne Villegas, 25, passed away on June 30, 2026 in Washington, UT. She was born in Orange County California to Miriam and Manuel Villegas.

Liz is the essence of joy. She lived with a brilliant radiance and a deep sense of compassion and empathy. This same compassion and empathy was the foundation from which she built her life—from fostering kittens, to the love of her family and friends, from her dedication and work ethic, to the selfless hours spent volunteering in her community.

From childhood, Liz displayed a profound appreciation for the simple beauties of the natural world around her. This wonder and reverence for nature followed her from the tidal pools of Laguna Beach to her new home in Southern Utah where she would hike, explore canyons, and spend hours enjoying the river—all the while upholding a deep sense of stewardship, never missing an opportunity to pick up litter while on any outdoor adventure. She connected to nature everywhere: the light dancing in the leaves, a flower growing out of the sidewalk, the shapes of the clouds—all of which would bring the greatest and most peaceful smile to her face.

Liz lived her life as an example of how to find beauty in simplicity and how to be the light in the darkest of places. She reminds us that the world is truly a beautiful place if we only allow ourselves to see it.

She is survived by her mother and father, and her brother Michael.
