On Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at age 63, Evelina Ma’a Ku’ukealohaokalani Conway, a loving Wife, Mother, Sister, Aunty, and friend passed in peace surrounded by her loved ones.
Evelina was born on September 9, 1959, at Pata Falelatai, Western Samoa to Ma’a Ooti Pulusi and Fiasili Pati Tuisaua. She was raised in Hawai’i and graduated from Kahuku High School in 1979. She later received her Business degree from Brigham Young University – Hawaii.
In 1980, Evelina served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Samoa Apia mission. On June 24, 2000, she married Joseph Maxwell Conway in the Saint George, Utah Temple.
Evelina had a passion for serving her community and did so in her church callings as well as her work in the St. George Temple. She worked as an Assistant Secretary in the St. George, Utah Temple many years. She loved to teach cultural dances to her family and friends and loved to spend her time outdoors with her husband. She was known for her loving kindness to all who she came in contact with.
Evelina was preceded in death by her father, Ma’a, and her mother, Fiasili, and her hanai’d parents Uncle Billie, and Aunty Mona Blaisdell, her four brothers and three sisters. She is survived by her husband Joseph, her stepchildren Jason, David, Tobin, Teancum, Josiah, and Melissa and her sisters Sina, Langi, Fiatagata and many grandchildren nieces, and nephews.
Her viewing will be held Thursday, September 15, 2022, from 6pm – 8pm and Friday, September 16th from 9:30am – 10:45am. Her funeral service will be Friday, September 16, 2022, at 11am. The viewing and service will be at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter–Day Saints 449 South 300 East, St. George, UT 84770 the chapel in front of the St. George Temple. Interment will be in the St. George City Cemetery.
