Florence Hildebrandt

Florence (Loren) Haynie Hildebrandt passed away on February 4, 2018. She was 84 years old.

Florence, or Loren as many knew her, was a loving devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Florence was born August 19, 1933 in Pima, Arizona to Clarence and Ethel McBride Haynie. She was the fourth of seven children. She grew up in the Gila Valley and graduated from Pima High School and The Gila Academy where she excelled in academics, art, and drama. She continued her education at Northern Arizona University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. Florence loved adventures and travel and accepted her first teaching job at George Air Force Base in Victorville, CA where she met Air Force fighter pilot, Jay Dustin Hildebrandt.

Florence and Jay were married in the Arizona Temple on June 26, 1959. They were married 56 years and blessed with 7 children.

Jay and Loren traveled the world living in Spain, Germany, Africa, California, Florida and Texas before settling down in Tucson, Arizona and then retiring in Lindon, Utah.

Florence was an active lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served in many capacities but her love was helping with humanitarian projects of all kinds. In 2002, Jay and Loren served as missionaries on the Apache Indian Nation in Whiteriver, Arizona.

Loren is survived by her 6 children, 24 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren:

Scott (Michelle)Hildebrandt, Jordan, Madison, Jessica, Stephanie. Konrad (DeAnna) Hildebrandt, Rhett, Kacee, Jasmyn, Shea, Aisha. Christian (Shannon) Hildebrandt, Alexis, Markus, Thaddeus, Lukas, Darius. Darcy (Robert) Barney, Nicholas, Andrei, Rebeka, Natalya. Jodi Hildebrandt, Alexandria, Addison. Roman (Darlene) Hildebrandt, Jake, Mckenzie, Kira, Zachary. She is also survived by brothers Neal and Mac Haynie and sister Marie Gardner.

Loren was preceded in death by her parents brother Kendall, sisters Evelyn and Phyllis, her son Todd Damon Hildebrandt and her loving husband Jay Dustin Hildebrandt.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Red Cliffs 4th Ward Chapel, 1155 N. 1400 W. with a viewing prior from 10-10:45 am at the same location. Interment will be at Ivins City Cemetery.
