Jami Williams

July 16, 1963 — December 19, 2018

Enterprise, Utah

Jami Lorraine Williams passed away December 19, 2018.  She was born July 16, 1963 in Inglewood, California. Her early childhood was spent in Southern California. In 1973, she moved to Los Lunas, New Mexico. The lifestyle was very different in that small rural town, but she enjoyed being able to have her own horse, Tillie, as well as having farm animals to help care for. As a teen-ager she worked for the local grocery store and also at the family ice cream store. After graduation from high school, Jami became a volunteer EMT for the El Cerro Fire Department and worked as a CNA in the local community. The next move for Jami was to Logan, Utah.

From there she was able to attend school in Rexburg, Idaho. While attending school, a decision was made to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  She worked at a local restaurant in Logan and started to save her money.  A call soon came to serve in the Vancouver, Canada Mission. A few months after her return home, Jami married Mitchell Berger. They had four children, Kaelob, Cassidi, Brandi, and Chelsi. After the children were older, Mitch and Jami were divorced and Jami's desire to become a teacher for Special Ed children led her to pursue her education to achieve this goal.

At this time, Enterprise, Utah was her home. She was able to find work locally as well as assisting teachers in various elementary schools. She pursued her education while working and caring for her children. In January 2006, Jami married Dawson Williams and added two more children, Shauni and Chris. Jami finally achieved her goal of a college degree one month before Dawson passed away in October 2014. Three months later she was diagnosed with 4th stage liver cancer but continued to work towards her Special Education Certificate. She was working at Coral Canyon Elementary School when that goal was achieved and while going through chemo-therapy treatments.

For the last few months, she had an opportunity to work at Valley Academy in Hurricane with her special kids. Jami had such a great love for all of her students. She knew their individual needs and appreciated all their individual personalities. They all felt the love she shared with them. Jami was fortunate to have two families who loved and cared for her, John and Bonnie Tiedy and their children Linnea, Michael, Debbie, and Dan as well as Ron and Jeri Lehm and their children Joe, Rob, Mandi and their Navajo daughter, Sandra.

Jami's children share their thoughts--"Any time she felt like a complication in life would come around, she would find the positive silver lining to it. She was always looking for a way to improve herself and others. She was a mother to all and accepted everyone for who they are. She was blessed with many artistic abilities. She lived by the creed, "Live, Laugh, Learn, Love."
