Josephine "Jody" Jorgensen, age 95, of St. George, Utah, passed away on June 28, 2023. She was born on November 7, 1927, in Lewiston, Idaho, to the late Willis and Alma Leach.

Jody, as she was affectionately known, was a remarkable woman who touched the lives of many. She was a devoted mother, not only to her son, Ron Leavitt, but also to her extended family and neighbors. Jody's nurturing nature and unwavering support made her the world's best mother.

In addition to her role as a mother, Jody was an accomplished bowler, trap shooter, and golfer. Her skills on the bowling alley and the golf course were unmatched, earning her numerous awards and accolades. Jody's love for the game was evident as she would tirelessly participate in Friday night bowling leagues, even after a long day of work.

Professionally, Jody's accounting skills were second to none. She served as the treasurer for the city of Kaysville and later for the St. George Hilton. Her meticulous attention to detail and unwavering dedication made her an invaluable asset to these organizations.

Jody's educational journey began at Weippe Elementary and continued at Lewiston High School. She was a diligent student, always eager to expand her knowledge and pursue excellence in her studies.

Jody is survived by her loving son, Ron Leavitt, his wife Elizabeth Eck, her nieces Marie Turner, Rose Marie Boggan, Ronda Hyson and Linda Spreiter, and by her nephews, Joel and Lester Turner. She was preceded in death by her beloved husbands, Lester Leavitt and Miles Jorgensen, as well as her stepdaughters Maxine Turner and Ruth Martin.

A memorial service to celebrate Jody's life will be held on Friday, July 28, 2023, at 10:30 am at Kaysville Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to gather and pay their respects.

Jody Jorgensen will be remembered for her unwavering love, boundless energy, and remarkable achievements. Her legacy will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
