Judith Lewis

Judith “Judy” Ann Lewis, 76, returned home to her loving Heavenly Father on October 5, 2017 in her home in St. George Utah, under the care of her beloved spouse Robert “Bob” G. Lewis. She was born on July 19, 1941 in Altadena, California to Janice and Roy Jenkins. Judy married the love of her life, Robert Lewis in St. George Utah, on December 26, 1980. They were sealed the following year in the St. George LDS Temple. They have been married for 36 years and lived a beautiful life together. Their Christ like love for each other is an example to all. Their marriage was one that was full of life, laughter, empathy, compassion and a love so sweet and selfless it is hard to describe. She loved Bob with all of her heart and always made sure he was taken care of and let him know he was loved by putting endearing love notes in his lunch each day. Their love for each other is never-ending and they are truly eternal companions.

Judy was raised in Los Angeles, California where she attended Franklin High School and was a member of the drill team, drama club, choir, and homecoming court. She was very popular and was best known as “Tink,” short for Tinkerbell, because of her petite stature and blonde pixie haircut. She later attended cosmetology school and became a beautician where she worked from home for many years while raising her three children.

Judy was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She loved the church and it brought her much joy throughout her life. Her favorite talk which got her through many hard times was “O’Divine Redeemer” by Neil A. Maxwell, which she kept on her nightstand at all times. She had a very close relationship with her Savior and shared her testimony with others often.

Judy had a passion for gardening and raised a lush garden for many years. Planting flowers was a favorite past time she enjoyed spending with her grandchildren. Her front porch was always decorated beautifully with flowers and décor for every season and her home is showered with many beautiful displays, which show her love and talent for decorating. Her many talents including flower arranging, cake decorating, and making center pieces for all occasions. Judy never lost her inner child and loved tea parties, fairies and sharing that joy with her grandchildren. She loved cooking and always made sure everyone had a full belly, sometimes too full, before leaving her home. She was an entertainer. She loved singing and dancing, even in her later years. Her favorite artists were Elvis Presley and Kenny Rogers. Judy loved to play jokes and kept us all laughing until the day she passed.

Judy was a classy little lady who always had her hair combed, make-up done, and matched from head to toe, including her jewelry- even if she was just going to Star Nursery. She never left the house not ready. Something she passed on to her daughters and granddaughters. Judy and Bob loved going shopping together and Bob could not keep up with her if she had a shopping cart. There were many times he had to go to the front desk and have them page Judy Lewis. They even coordinated matching outfits in case they needed to find each other. They enjoyed Vegas outings, dinner dates, and long car rides, but really just being together. You could find her watching cooking shows, Dancing with the Stars, soap operas, and she kept QVC in business for many years.

She loved just about everything and had an amazing zest for life, but she loved her family the most. Her Grandchildren were one of her greatest joys in life and she a very special bond with each and every one of them, especially her “Angel” Grandson, Chad. Although he struggles with many of his own disabilities he was always there to take care of her and she loved it. Judy was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and most of all a friend to everyone she knew. She was always taking care of her friends and neighbors and often took soup, cakes and floral arrangements to cheer up others in spite of her own ailments. Her entire life was dedicated to serving others and her family.

Judy is survived by her eternal companion Robert G. Lewis, her Brother Richard (Titine) Jenkins and her 3 children; Greg (Lynnette) Petralia, Tammie (Kirk) Saxton and Laneice (Gunnar) Leigh. Her 26 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and many more friends and family members who love and will miss her dearly.

She is preceded in death by her parents Janice and Roy Jenkins, her in-laws Michael and Babbette Lewis, her Aunt and best friend Vivian Waugaman, her Grandson Thomas Woolley Petralia and her treasured animals; her cats Crystal and Meyling and Maynard the duck.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 11th, 2017 at 11:00 am at the LDS Chapel located on 259 N Mall Drive St George, Utah 84790. Viewing visitation will be held from 9:30-10:45 am just prior to the funeral services.
