Listen to Obituary

Karen Marie Zamudio passed peacefully in her home on May 8, 2026 after a long journey marked by both Illness and Healing. Through the support of her partner Andrew Harrison, she was able to remain in the comfort of the home she enjoyed until the very end.

She held a deep conviction that life encompasses far more than what we can see, and carried this spiritual perspective throughout her life, relationships, and her personal path.

Her beliefs in spirituality, healing and the continuity of the soul beyond hardship shaped the resilient and optimistic spirit for which she was known. Even in difficult times, Karen chose to focus on hope human connection, and the search for meaning - qualities that inspired those around her.

A passionate advocate for education and cultural understanding, Karen’s love for travel and the Spanish language wove naturally into her career as an Early Childhood Education Specialist and Auditor. Through her work she touched countless lives offering support and opportunity to families and children who needed it most.

She is survived by her 7 children, 9 grandchildren, dear sister, as well as her partner of 8 years. Karen was a genuine friend and colleague to many, remembered for her strength, courage and generous heart. We will miss her deeply and carry her love with us always. May she travel peacefully to her next great adventure.
