Larry Brown Orr, 78, passed away peacefully at his home on December 27 2022, surrounded by his family. He was born May 6, 1944 in Rexburg, Idaho. To Sylvan and Curtie Brown Orr. He married Cheryl Jean Scoma for time and all eternity in Idaho Falls, Idaho on May 12, 1967.
He grew up in Plano Idaho the fifth of seven children. Where he attended the Edmonds school and graduated from Sugar Salem High School in 1963. He served his first mission to the southern states mission November 1964 through November 1966 sharing the gospel was always important to dad and he and Mom returned to the south to serve in the Jacksonville Florida mission, May 2014 to November 2015.
Larry was a farmer at heart, but worked different jobs. He was a carpenter at the Kansas City international airport, and also at the Teton dam in Idaho. After which he started “Either Orr” Construction with his brother Wendell. Dad also, always had a garden. If there was dirt, he was always hoping to make something grow.
Larry and Cheryl made their home in Idaho, Missouri and Utah. He loved to fish, garden, and spend time with his family.
He is survived by his eternal companion of 55 years Cheryl Scoma Orr. Nine children, Larry Bret (Hailey) Orr, Amy (David) Simmons, Jennifer (David) Anderson, Rachel (Dale) Ward, Tim (Jamie) Orr, Charity (Brian) Adams, Sarah (Kevin) Barnes, James (Cindra) Orr, Alicia Orr. 44 grandchildren 13 great grandchildren with two on the way. 1 sister and 3 brothers, Guin (Crandall) Neilson, Oak City, Utah. Brownie (Arlene) Orr, Salmon, Idaho. Golden Orr, Plano, Idaho. Dick (Linda) Orr, Archer, Idaho. And Brother in law Larry Daniel, St. Anthony, Idaho.
He was welcomed to his heavenly home by his parents, his sister, Marge Daniel and his brother Wendell Orr.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at 11:00 am at the Ivins 2nd Ward chapel located at 15 North Main Street, Ivins Utah. A viewing will be prior to the services from 9:30 to 10:30am. An evening viewing will be held Monday, January 2, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00pm at the same location.
Interment will be at the Ivins Cemetery.
