Leo Robert McGeehan, 88 years old, died July 23, 2025, in the care of his Nurse (Megan) and special friends: Craig & Wilma.

Leo was born in Leadville, Colorado, to William Henry McGeehan and Angelina Formalo McGeehan. He was one of eight children: Annie, Joseph "Buddy", Viola "Noni", Louise, James "Jim:, Lawerence "Larry", Leo, Angelina "Angel". He was the last surviving sibling.

Leo graduated from Leadville High School, then joined the Marines and served his Country Honorably. He later moved to Reno, Nevada, where he worked in the Clubs in Reno and developed the talent for Cake Decorating. During that time he met Claudia (his little darling) in a sandwich shop. Leo and Claudia Marie Wickstrom were married November, 1969. Both loved the outdoors, music, and reading. They later retired in St. George. After 49 years, being happily married to his beautiful bride (Claudia), she passed away due to Cancer in March, 2028. Leo did develop a personal faith in Christ Jesus in his last years.

Leo and Claudia had no children, but Leo had many nieces and nephews that loved him, (esp. Michael M., his nephew, who became a close friend to Leo in his last days). Leo was very sociable, had a good sense of humor, and was fun to be with. He was also a caring person. He helped his sister-in-law (Sandy) with the care of Larry, his brother (now deceased). Leo will be missed by family, friends, and all who knew him.

As per Leo's wishes, he was cremated and placed next to his beloved Claudia in Tonaquint Cemetery Cremation Gardens, 1777 S. Dixie Dr. St. George, UT 84770.

In Leo's honor, we would like to thank the Medical staff at Dixie Medical Center and Red Cliffs Rehab Center for their excellent care and kindness. Family requested a Memorial Mass, to be held on October 4, 2025 at 1:30pm at St. George Catholic Church, located at 259 W. 200 N. Please note: Military Honors will be held before the service.
