Lorraine Milne

June 12, 1933 — May 15, 2021

Washington, Utah

Lorraine Corry Milne died on May 15, 2021 in the St. George Regional Hospital.  Lorraine was born June 12, 1933 to Milo and Blanche Emett Corry in Cedar City, Utah.  She married Clinton Milne in her parents home in Cedar City on December 27, 1952.  Her bishop performed the ceremony.  They were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Los Angeles Temple on September 15, 2006. As a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints all her life, Lorraine served faithfully in many Church callings.  She and Clinton were married for more than 68 years.

Lorraine graduated from Cedar City High School in 1951 and then attended the Holy Cross Schooling of Nursing in Salt Lake City for a year.  She was unable to complete her nursing degree, as the Catholic Church in those days did not permit their students to be engaged or married, and Lorraine became engaged in June 1952.  Lorraine attended the Catholic nursing school as it was an excellent school.  Lorraine and her husband relocated to California after he graduated from the University of Utah in June of 1953.  In 1971, she attended the Los Angeles School of Judaism for a semester as she wanted to learn Hebrew.  The family moved to San Luis Obispo in 1972 and as Lorraine was always interested in art, she attended Cuesta College to take art classes.  She dropped out of school to take care of her ailing parents.

Lorraine worked in banking for 10 years and then retired as a loan officer.

Lorraine liked most everything but Algebra.  She enjoyed golf and bowling and going for car rides.

Lorraine and Clinton lived in Salt Lake City, Utah, Los Angeles County, San Luis Obispo County, and Plumas County in California.  Then, after 53 years moved back to Utah and lived in Bluffdale City and the Washington City.

Lorraine loved to travel and was able to go to England and Scotland, Canada, Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, Caribbean Islands, Costa Rica, Panama, and Colombia.  She enjoyed cruises and especially a cruise to Alaska and one though the Panama Canal.  She also loved Hawaii.

Lorraine is survived by her husband Clinton Milne and her sister Sharon Peterson (husband Peter).  She also had an older brother Merrill Milo Corry who died just after birth.  Lorraine had four children: Gregory (wife Barbi), Jeffrey (deceased), Ann (husband Ron Wight), and Paul (wife Susy).  At the time of her passing, she had 16 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren with three more on the way.
