October 7, 1963 — February 28, 2024

Hurricane, Utah

Michael B. Hubbard Known to all as “Mike” or “Bird”
Mike Hubbard, age 60, passed away unexpectedly on February 28, 2024. Mike was born on October 7, 1963, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was a loving husband to Genie Hubbard, a caring son to Margaret and LaGrande Hubbard who preceded him in death, a favorite brother to three sisters, Suzanne (Randy) McKnight, Sheilah (Thomas) Weir, and Shari (David) Funk, and an admired uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Mike was a master mechanic and a dedicated hard worker for over 25 years at Ralph Smith Trucking in Bountiful, Utah. Upon moving to Southern Utah, he was Fleet Manager for Washington City, and then worked at Western Rock where he retired in 2022.

Along with Genie, his bride of 29 years, they embraced retirement to the fullest, hand-in-hand. Their days were filled with walking, hiking, biking, boating, golfing, animal rescue, kitty sitting, bird watching, and traveling, while still having time to pick up new hobbies like disc golf and pickle ball.

Mike was very handy and could fix anything. He was always more than willing to help those in need. He was generous, honest, and a loyal friend.

Mike, may your future hikes be plenty and your companions be familiar - Shasta, Baby the Dog, Sasha, Cricket, and Tino (although that will be like herding cats).

We love you and miss you. Keep texting those silly memes from beyond.

In Celebration of Mike’s Life, please join his family and friends at a gathering on Saturday, March 9, 2024, anytime between 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM MST. It will be held at the Holiday Inn Express located at 2450 North Town Center Drive, Washington, Utah 84780. In lieu of flowers, please support Mike’s passion for animals by donating to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary at BestFriends.org, or your local animal rescue.

Excerpt from one of Mike’s favorite songs

Just Breathe
By Eddie Vedder - Pearl Jam

Yes, I understand
That every life must end
As we sit alone
I know someday we must go

Oh, I'm a lucky man
To count on both hands
The ones I love
Some folks just have one
Yeah, others they got none

Stay with me
Let's just breath
