Myrna Lee Jones Dupuis passed away peacefully in St. George, Utah, on May 24, 2026.
Myrna was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, teacher, and friend. She is survived by her five children: Janae Dupuis Monson (Chris), Brandon Dupuis (Kinga), Emilie Dupuis, Brandi Lynn Sawyer, and Erin Dupuis (Kristin). She also leaves behind 16 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her tremendous joy.She was preceded in death by her parents, Franklin D. Jones and Rula Larson Jones, as well as her brothers and sisters, Roy Jones, Robert Jones, Linda Ann Jones and Carol Jones Vogt.Myrna was formerly married to Victor Dupuis (Carol) and faithfully served as a dedicated military spouse for many years.
A graduate of Brigham Young University, Myrna began her career as a teacher. After starting her family, she devoted herself wholeheartedly to raising her children and creating a warm and loving home. She was an excellent seamstress, and her children often returned home from school to the comforting smell of warm cookies or homemade bread fresh from the oven.Later in life, Myrna returned to teaching elementary school, where she specialized in reading and touched the lives of countless students with her patience and kindness.
Myrna had a deep love for genealogy and family history work and spent many years preserving family stories and connections. She treasured her many friendships across the country and loved those friends dearly. Blessed with a beautiful alto voice, she participated in choirs throughout her life and found joy in music and fellowship.Above all, Myrna knew she was a beloved Daughter of God. Striving to keep the covenants she had made with Him was her highest priority. She was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her faith in Jesus Christ was the foundation of her life and a source of strength to those around her. Her family finds comfort in knowing she has returned to her Heavenly Home.Myrna will be remembered for her gentle spirit, wry humor, loving heart, quiet service, and unwavering devotion to her family and faith. Her influence and example will continue to bless the lives of all who knew and loved her.
