Nicholas Paige

December 24, 1931 — September 4, 2023

Nicholas "Nick" Paige, 91 was born on Christmas Eve in 1931, in Tulsa Oklahoma.

His family moved to Hollywood when he was young, where he attended elementary school and Hollywood High. He loved living during the heyday of Hollywood, during a time where you could run into movie stars at the gas station or grocery store.

He always loved motorcycles and cars, which led him to working for Volkswagen for many years; first in Southern California, and then in 1963, when he moved with his wife Colleen and daughter April to Utah County, he went to work for Chuck Peterson Motors, the Volkswagen/Porsche/Audi dealership in Provo. He spent many years taking care of hundreds of customers (including Robert Redford) as the Service Advisor there.

He had a son and another daughter during the next few years, Jeffrey and Janna. They spent several years in Payson, where Nick was also a Reserve Police Officer. When his marriage ended, he moved to Provo, where a few years later he met his wife-to-be, Lorie Hawley. They were married in 1976 and spent many happy years in Provo.

Everyone who knew Nick knew they could always count on him for a good joke and a ready smile. He loved being around people, and brightening their day. He could talk to anyone, and loved that more than anything else (except maybe food; he really loved food!). His cheeriness will be missed by so many. He made friends everywhere he went; he especially loved his connections these past few years with the people at the mall, where he walked every day, and at Denny’s, where they fed him so well!

A private family function will be held at a later date. But for all who would like to do something in remembrance of Nick, we ask that you do a random act of kindness on his behalf: pay for someone’s lunch (as people did for him), or leave someone an extra big tip, take a treat to a neighbor; whatever you choose. Whatever it is, it will make the world a better place. Just like he did.
