Patrice Jane Stanford, 68, died suddenly Feb. 19, 2026, in her home in Hurricane, Utah. "Pat," or "Patsy," as she was known to friends and family members, was born June 5, 1957, in San Diego, California, to Paul and Marjorie (Johnson) DeWitt. She was the fifth oldest of seven children raised by the DeWitts in El Cajon, California, and Page, Arizona.
In 1961, her family moved to Page, a community established for the start of construction of Glen Canyon Dam only four years earlier. She attended Page schools and graduated from Page High School in 1975. She was a member of the first-ever girls basketball team at PHS in 1974-75 and also was a wrestling mat maid. She enjoyed swimming in the family's backyard pool, socializing at Lake Powell and befriending many people in Page. She was known for her quick wit, outgoing personality and ability to make friends easily.
Following graduation, she briefly attended Brigham Young University before moving to Mesa, Arizona, where she worked for First Interstate Bank and the city of Mesa. She met Tracy Stanford in Mesa and they were sealed in the Mesa Temple on Feb. 4, 1985. They went on to have two boys, Trace in 1986 and Kyle in 1988. She and Tracy moved to Page in 1987, where they owned and operated the family's Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant. They moved to the St. George area in 1995 to help care for her parents, who had moved to St. George that year from Page.
In the St. George area, she worked for the City of Santa Clara, Washington County courts, Zions National Bank, and finally, the Washington County Landfill. She retired in 2023. In retirement, she took particular interest in owning as many as three dogs at a time, her beloved doodles and boxers.
She was predeceased by her parents and sister Crystal. She is survived by husband Tracy and sons Trace, of Washington, Utah, and Kyle, of Salt Lake City, Utah; along with brothers Wally (Mary) DeWitt of West Valley City, Utah and Paul (Deanne) DeWitt of Springville, Utah; and sisters Dana (Todd) Glasenapp of Page, Peggy (Alma) Taylor of Mesa and K.C. Stinson of Phoenix, Arizona; along with many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. MST on Sunday, March 22, 2026 at Hela Seegmiller Historic Farm, 2592 S. 3000 East, St. George, Utah.
