Our mom, Peggy Murie, passed away peacefully at home next to loved ones on the morning of the solar eclipse, October 14, 2023. Mom was born on June 14, 1949 in Cedar City, Utah. She spent her early childhood roaming the fields and farms of Enoch and Cedar mountain. Mom’s family moved to Las Vegas in 1961. She graduated from Western High school in 1967. She married Ron Bloxham, with whom she raised four children in Las Vegas, Nevada. They divorced in 1992. Later she moved home to Southern Utah, where she lived for the remainder of her life. Mom had many friends, neighbors, and family who loved her. In the last years of her life, she developed a close relationship with Charles “Chuck” Burnett whom she cared for deeply. Our mom loved learning, reading, exploring, creating, and imagining the mysteries of the stars. Her family describes her as whimsical, quirky, mystical, magical, colorful, and fun loving. Mom was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. There is no one in the universe like our mom. She is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Lucile Murie. She is survived by her four children, Chris (Dawn), Fitz (Tracey), Clay (Heather), and Lucy, as well as sixteen grandchildren, countless nieces and nephews, and her siblings Kelly Murie, Susan Staheli,, and Janet Jarvis. We love you forever, mom.
