Richard Alan Fisher, beloved son, father grandfather and brother passed away on November 21, 2025 at the St. George Regional Hospital after bravely living with COPD for many years.
Richard, also known as "Rick" and "Ricky" was born on October 14, 1953 in Huntington Beach, California to Robert Fisher and Jeanette Roseann DePerna. He was the second oldest of eight children. He was a member of the Catholic church.
Richard spent a lot of his childhood in Nevada. His siblings have fond memories of him teaching them how to swim in their local ponds, driving their neighbors snowmobiles to get their family groceries in the winter and teaching them how to ride bikes.
Richard lived in many places in his life. He resided in Huntington Beach, Big Piney, Winnemucca, Price, Salt Lake City, Reno, Evanston, Mountain Home and finally St. George.
In his early 20's he signed up to join the Army. He spent a few years back and forth over seas. He always had exciting stories about his time served. He then became a police officer for Helper, Utah and Price, Utah. He then became a father to Ricky Fisher and Crystal Fisher. He later moved to Salt Lake City where he became a dad to Brittany (Fisher) Miller and Ashley Fisher. He lived many years in West Valley City, Utah before moving back to Nevada where he went to work in the mines. He eventually quit the mines and went to work for Greyhound Bus driving across the country. He enjoyed driving while listening to his passengers stories. He later retired from the bus and drove a semi truck across the country. He liked to call his kids and have them guess what he was hauling and where he was hauling to. He enjoyed collecting coffee mugs from all of the places he had visited along his routes. He decided to retire for good and moved to St. George, Utah where he loved the warmer weather.
Rick's children have fond memories of him working on his very loved Trans Am until late through the night. He enjoyed going on lunch dates to Little America, especially during the Christmas season where he loved to walk through all the little shops. Rick loved to take his motorcycle out on little trips. He spent a lot of his life on the road and he had many stories and coffee mugs to show for it.
