Richard "Dick" Olson

On November 24th, 2018 our loving Dick returned to our Heavenly Father. He is survived by his wife Barbara, daughters Deb Skuoien, and Jennifer Kersch, and stepsons Berry and Wayne Geck, plus numerous grandchildren.

Dick joined the Marines in July 1948 and served in the Korean War being wounded twice and receiving a purple heart for his service. After his military service he became a fire fighter and Fire Chief serving in Japan and several states until he retired with 30 years of service.

He moved to St George for its golf courses where he met Barbara and married her in 1996. He and Barbara toured the USA in a motor home until Dick had 2 serious strokes. He and Barbara then returned to Ivins, Utah where Dick resided at the Southern Utah Veterans Home until his passing at age 88. He was loved by all and will be missed by many friends, family and the residents of the Veterans Home where he lived for over 4 years.

A Memorial Service will be held on January 2, 2019 at 1:00 pm at the Southern Utah Veterans Home.
