Robert Woodbury Chamberlain

Robert Woodbury Chamberlain, 81, passed away peacefully on September 22, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born January 15, 1945, in Cedar City, Utah, he enjoyed the outdoors, camping, and riding horses, and was active in Future Farmers of America, reflecting his lifelong connection to farming and ranching.

Robert met the love of his life, Marilyn, at 17. They were later sealed in the Logan Temple on August 7, 1964, for time and all eternity, and shared 62 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they lived in several places in Montana and Utah before settling in St. George, where they built their family home in Washington Fields and raised their family.

Robert took great pride in providing for his family. He was known for his strong work ethic and dependable nature. Once settled in St. George, he worked on his uncle’s family beef farm, raising and ranching cattle. He also served as water master, overseeing farmers’ water usage in Washington Fields. Ranching remained an important part of Robert’s life, and he and his father co-owned property on the Arizona Strip known as Last Chance Ranch. After raising cattle, Robert began a new chapter as owner of Sunrise Laundry and Dry Cleaning; and then in his later years, he continued his strong tradition of hard work as a driver for the Washington County School District.

He loved the Lord and showed his faith through service in Church callings and his willingness to help others. Robert and Marilyn raised six children: Lisa, Brian, Michelle, Shanna, Amie, and Bobbie Lyn. As he got older and had more time, he especially enjoyed traveling with his family and spending time at his time-shares during many family vacations.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Marilyn, his parents Charles and Zarman Chamberlain, and siblings Kent Chamberlain and Jeannette Rawlings. He is survived by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchild, and siblings Bert Chamberlain and Judy Killian.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2026, 2:00 pm at the LDS Church, 3868 Bentley Rd., St George, Utah.
