Our beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, Shirley Bourget, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on May 13, 2022 in Ivins, UT. Shirley was born on November 10, 1938 in Provo, Utah to Ray and Erma Turner. She married Robert Bourget on Oct 6, 1956, and together they had four children, Mark, Deborah, Denise and MaryAnn. They lived in Tooele, UT, where they happily raised their children and in 1997, Bob and Shirley decided to move to Southern Utah to enjoy their retirement life.
Shirley worked for the Toole Army Depot as a tool and parts attendant and later as a caregiver at the Meadows Assisted Living in St George, Utah. She loved working with the residents at the Meadows. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends. She was a proud member of St. George Catholic Church. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Shirley is survived by, her two daughters Denise Matier, Johnston City, Ill and MaryAnn Hunter, Ivins Utah, along with nieces, nephews, sister-n-laws, brother-n-laws, 7 grand children and 13 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Bourget; parents, Ray and Erma Turner ; sisters IvaD Hamilton, Anna Jean Vautrin, Corine Hardman; brothers, George Raymond Turner Jr, half-brothers Robert and Richard Turner; Son Deacon Mark A Bourget; Daughter Deborah Gardner, grandsons Dustin Macier and Mark Bourget Jr.
Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at 12:00 noon at the St. George Catholic Church at 259 W 200 N St George Ut 84770. Graveside service to follow at the Ivins cemetery, Ivins Utah.
The family wishes to give a heartfelt thanks for the love and wonderful care given to Shirley by Dr. Thomas Jones, the wonderful Hospice nurses, and her dear friend Mary Helen Stricklin.
