Stephen "Steve" Allan Alexander, 80, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home, with his wife by his side on August 26, 2023 in Washington Utah. He was born on January 29, 1943 in Warren, Michigan to Peter Basil and Doris Helen Carney Alexander.

Steve was awarded the Evans scholarship in Western golf to attend the University of Michigan, where he graduated with a Bachelors in Mathematics, he was also a graduate of the University of Utah with a Bachelors in Meteorology, and a Masters in Business Administration, where he graduated top of his class and with the highest honors, Summa Cum Laude. He went on to become a Fellow of both the Casualty Actuarial Society and Society of Actuaries, a rare distinction. With over thirty successful years in risk management and consumer advocacy, he was a highly sought after expert witness in some of the most consequential insurance court cases nationwide, where his prestige compounded with his winning track record.

Captain Stephen Alexander proudly served his country in the Vietnam war, stationed in Korea as a meteorologist in the United States Air Force. He was highly respected by family, friends and colleagues, and leaves behind an example and mark of professional excellence.

Steve was an avid golfer and for many years living in Crawfordville, FL, one of his favorite places was SouthWood Golf Club in Tallahassee, FL, where he enjoyed many friendships and felt at home. In more recent years he enjoyed playing the many courses in and around St. George, UT where he enjoyed the groups that he played with.

In his younger years Steve was a competitive marathon runner and a triathlete. He was a long time fan of the Atlanta Braves and the Utah Jazz.  He enjoyed watching football and was a fan of the Florida State Seminoles and more recently of the BYU Cougars. Steve loved vegetable gardening, the great outdoors, and enjoyed hiking and riding bikes with his wife Angie and family.  He loved animals, but especially adored their cats Bogie and Cooper.

He will be remembered for his honor and integrity, and the advice and wisdom that he shared with family and friends. If it took a little time for him to warm up to people, they would soon see his fun-loving personality, kindness and smile. He was a wonderful example of living an active and healthy lifestyle.
