Theresa Beier

Theresa Anne Orser Beier was born to Lt. and Anne J Murphy Orser in Bremerton, Washington. Teri was the third of four children. Her mother passed away in 1952 and her father  married Janice McDivitt after a few years, adding 2 more children to the family.

The U.S. Navy reassigned the now Capt. Stan Orser often which forced Teri into enrolling in 10 different schools. She spent her senior year in Taipei, Taiwan, and then attended College of Holy Names in Oakland California where her Aunt Margaret was Dean of Students.

Teri married Michael Duane Beier on Aug. 9, 1969. Together they had 3 beautiful, robust children: Patrick, Alison and Hilary. With 3 children, Teri enjoyed becoming both a Boy Scout and a Girl Scout leader for 20 years along with being a strong advocate and soccer mom. Teri continued her education with her daughters, gaining a degree in both history and education. She taught for several years in Palmdale, enjoying both other teachers, students and parents.

Teri is survived by her children: Patrick Beier, (Pasadena CA.) ; Alison (Dave) Howard, (McCloud,CA); and Hilary (Mike) Basciano (Dove Canyon, CA); 5 grandchildren: Alec, Shanen,and Hannah Howard, and Logan and Kira Basciano ; 3 great grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings : Lynne Van Blake, Judy Grichard and Skip Orser and cousins: Nancy Chalfant, Carolyn Thornton and Allen Orser.

To really know Teri was to witness her dry wit, her inexhaustible knowledge on every subject and to watch her light up when she talked about her next crochet or sewing project for her grandchildren, relatives or friends. Teri loved life and everybody around her. And remember, when food looks questionable but you are expected to eat it: Don’t be told what it is until you’ve eaten it.

She will truly be missed!!!

Graveside services will be held on Friday, September 2, 2022 at 10 am at Tonaquint Cemetery in St. George Utah.
