Thyce Petersen

April 18, 1943 — February 20, 2022

Santa Clara, Utah

Thyce O. Petersen , 78, devoted husband, father and grandfather, bravely battled bone cancer and is now finally free of pain.  Feb, 20, 2022.  He died at home peacefully in Santa  Clara, Utah .  Thyce was born April 18, 1943, to Christian (Odell) Petersen and Edith Christensen Petersen in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Thyce was raised in Salt Lake City, graduated from West High in 1962. His grandfather owner the Arcade Theatre and his father owned Odell's Shoe Repair where Thyce learned many life skills.

Thyce completed an LDS mission to Denmark. He worked as an engineer in various states around the U.S.  He was an avid golfer and enjoyed deep sea fishing. He traveled to Europe and Scandinavia, where his  family roots originated.

He married Harriet (Blackwelder) Petersen in 1970.  Together they had 2 daughters, followed by  4 grandchildren and one  great grandchild due in March.

He is survived by his wife; Harriet, daughters; Candice (David) Flitsch, Lacy (John) Carroll.  Grandchildren; Aaron, Corrine, Maxwell, Addilyn and one on the way.  A brother Ronald (Leslie) Petersen, sister  Linda (Ray) Connors.and many nieces and nephews.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
