Timothy William Carey

February 27, 1941 — March 15, 2024

Washington, Utah

Timothy William Carey, our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle passed away March 15, 2024, at his home in Washington, UT. Tim was born on February 27, 1941, to William and Jeanne Carey in Cleveland, OH. He grew up in the Midwest but headed for warmer locations as soon as he could, never looking back or missing the cold, snow, and humidity of the Midwest. He spent most of his adult life in Las Vegas NV and later retired to Washington, UT.

Tim was a unique person who had an insatiable sweet tooth and could drink coffee all day long. While he loved all sweets, his favorite was Anise Cookies, a Carey family tradition, made for him by his sister Peggy. He never got rid of those cookie containers (or much of anything else) and his collection would have lasted another 83 years.

Tim was an avid sports fan but truly loved all Notre Dame sports and Nascar (or any racing for that matter). On his 70th birthday his sisters Kathy and Peggy treated him to a Nascar Race event in Phoenix, AZ.

Tim is survived by his daughter Sherri Kim Ferguson (Dennis), his grandsons Mark Ferguson and Josh (Justine) Ferguson, great-granddaughter Jayden Ferguson, sisters Kathy (Rick) Bredlie and Margaret (Peggy) Pieczynski, brother Chris (Katie) Carey, sister-in-law Shirley Carey, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Edward Carey and Jeanne Olds Carey, brother William (Bill) Carey, and brother-in-law William (Bill) Pieczynski.

Tim was a very stubborn soul, a Carey family trait, but he will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him. No funeral services will be held, at his request. A family gathering to celebrate his life will be held at a later date.
