Willy Gerard Carstens

Willy G. Carstens, age 74 passed away on October 11, 2025 at his home in Hurricane, Utah. 

Willy was an only child and was preceded in death by his parents Andreas and Georgette Carstens. Willy was born in Saint Germaine France and moved to the United States when he was three years old. Willy was raised in the Sugarhouse area and as a young boy, he enjoyed swimming, roller skating and ice-skating. As he got older, his interest moved to working in his shop and collecting antiques, especially Japanese swords and all types of steins. Willy also loved to go fishing with his father and his two sons Nic and Matt. 

Willy survived by his two sons Nicholas A. Carstens, married to Lara Miller, and their three children, and by his son Matthew G. Carstens who lived with and cared for Willy in the years preceding his death. 

The boys would like to thank their mother Annette Carstens (ex-wife) and their aunt Andrea Nixon for their help during Willy’s last days. They would also like to thank intermountain hospice, and the nurses who were extremely helpful and kind during this time. A small family service was held to celebrate and remember Willy.
